Today we finally hit bottom in our tolerance of filth and turned the living room out, literally. We took every piece of furniture, the rug, and all of the smaller junk outside and left it on the lawn. Then Saint Mike vacuumed the ceiling and walls, and I washed the windows and the floor. All of the dust from removing the fireplace, and from sanding drywall, and from sidling between stacks of things that temporarily have no home was swept away. We worked all day and removed every bit of dust and dirt we could find. A lot of stuff is still sitting outside, but tomorrow it will be replaced and our lives will be calmer and more ordered. We will have to keep our makeshift kitchen going a little while longer, since the new countertops have been delayed (the joys of remodeling), but the end is in sight. I meant to take pictures, but kept being pulled back into the cleaning process, so here is a picture I took a while back at the nursery. Its a display of planters made interesting (I think) by the little dab of orange back behind.
