Becky's winter table uses the square tablecloth I made based on Jude Hill's (spiritcloth.typepad.com) experiments with dye wicking. The whole process is here on my blog but I can never get my links to work, so just go to "Becky's table" in my categories and you will be able to see how it was made. Looking at it now I can see a number of changes I would make if I tried again, but overall I think it is successful in evoking a Northwest winter day.
The winter cloth worked really well with Becky's dishes and brown wine glasses. There was none of the "the dishes are too dark for the season" problems with winter, of course. The centerpiece was just pine branches (with cones) and some crystal dealy-bobbers that I thought looked like raindrops, with assorted green votive candles. The undercloth and napkins are the same gray the square table cloth started with. It therefore goes well, but it might have looked more wintery with a darker base color. The green base cloth I used for autumn and one of the summers also looks well, but if I was doing it again I might use brown or dark gray blue underneath.
